UL Novice Team Shield 2010

It is that time of year again when we organise the UL Novice Team Shield, the competition where our novices get to test their skills against their peers from all the other UL Fencing clubs.

The competition is open to anyone who started fencing with us since September 2009 and is a foil event fenced in teams of 3 fencers. More details of the event can be found at its new website.

ULU have won this event on 2 of the 3 previous years it has been held and we have high hopes for another victory with the excellent crop of novices this year.

When: Sunday 14th March
Where:Upper Hall, ULU
Check in closes 11am, entry is FREE for ULU teams

Anyone wanting to enter should talk to Novice Rep Tom or Novice Captains James and Rob on a Tuesday and they will assign you to a team. If you are unable to make the next few Tuesdays but would still like to enter, please post in this thread.

We will also need experienced fencers and coaches to advise our fencers, referee and keep the event running smoothly. Please come and help if you can.

Grats to all the team..it was a great experience!!! I think i can safely say every1 had lots of fun and gained a lot of experience!!! I think the newer novices showed great promise and especial congratulations to them.
Also thanx to every1 for your support, am not sure we could have made it all the way to the gold medal without you all present, the semi final and final were really tough, and having you guys cheering every point and the random shouts of encouragement were really helpful. So from ULU 1 thanx again for your support!!
