WELCOME TO ULU FENCING
The club serves all Student members of the University of London's 28 Colleges and Institutes. Whether you're a beginner or experienced fencer, this club will cater for you. So, have a browse round our website and if you like what you see come along on a Tuesday evening and join in the fun.
Use the navigator window on the left of the screen to get around the website. More information can be found in the FAQ section. Feel free to register for our forums also, just don't forget to introduce yourself.

UL Novice Team Shield 2010 |

It is that time of year again when we organise the UL Novice Team Shield, the competition where our novices get to test their skills against their peers from all the other UL Fencing clubs.
The competition is open to anyone who started fencing with us since September 2009 and is a foil event fenced in teams of 3 fencers. More details of the event can be found at its new website.
ULU have won this event on 2 of the 3 previous years it has been held and we have high hopes for another victory with the excellent crop of novices this year.
When: Sunday 14th March
Where:Upper Hall, ULU
Check in closes 11am, entry is FREE for ULU teams

Reminder the the AGM is being held TONIGHT! If you want to stand for election but still aren't sure please post on the forum for more info!
7pm in the Gallery (1st floor ULU)
We need you all to come for this as we need a large proportion of the club inorder to be quorate and hold the election to allow the club to continue next year, so if you want to keep fencing come to the AGM!!
We need to fill ALL committee positions including:
President
Vice president
Secretary
Treasurer
Men's Captain
Womens' Captain
Novice Captain
Social Secretary

If you're wondering what the pirate social is:
1. London has a rich maritime heritage. In other words, in the past, there were pirates in London. We will therefore be taking a tour around some establishments (pubs) which are related to piratical events and learning a little about seafaring history in the capital.
2. We will be dressing up as pirates. Those of you who don't want to look like landlubbers can find various practical piratical accessories at such shops as Angels near Covent Garden: http://www.fancydress.com/costumes/

1) AGM - Tuesday 23rd Feb
The club AGM where we elect the new committee will take place on Tuesday 23rd Feb. There will be NO fencing on this date as there is no room space available at ULU, but the AGM will take place along with a celebration social for the newly elected committee.
The following positions are up for election:
President
Treasurer
Secretary
Vice President
Mens' 1sts Captain
Mens' 2nds Captain
Womens Captain
Novice Captain
Social Sec
Tour Sec

Wallace Collection Trip - Saturday 23rd January |

This Saturday we are taking a tour around the Wallace Collection; a private art collection now bequeathed for public viewing and containing amongst other things "the finest array of princely arms and armour in Britain".
The Wallace Collection in on Manchester Square, off Oxford Street; the closest tube is Bond Street.

We will you be taking you on a tour of the sections of this display which relate to fencing... from the armour and weapons used by knights of old to the finely crafted duelling rapiers which are the basis of the fencing weapons we use today.
